It's hard to keep up with all the new restaurants, bars and whatnot in Denver. So we look for help when trying to introduce new flavors into our lives. Generally, this takes little more than powering up our laptop and checking out some of our favorite food and drink blogs in Denver.

Check out six worth reading:

For plenty of booze: Denver Off the Wagon
There’s a group of folks in Denver who like to drink. A lot. They are at all the top restaurants in Denver (sometimes working, more often playing), push social media to the edge and actaully like to write about their experiences. The result: Denver’s most all encompassing drink blog. Need to know where to find a good cocktail? It has that covered. How about catching up on Denver’s awesome beer culture? Plenty of that, too. Jess Hunter and PJ Hoberman have assembled a diverse team of contributors from all walks of life with booze being their common denominator. We like booze, too.

For plenty of food: Denver On a Spit
When you read a blog such as this, you start to wonder how a food blogger can support such a lifestyle. It’s one of life’s unsolved mysteries. Reading Denver On a Spit is a whirlwind through the city’s restaurant scene stopping everywhere from a tasty empanada joint to a downtown fish monger. This blog will tell you where all the great ethnic spots are too and includes a very handy guide to all reviews by map.

For inspiration in the kitchen: Creative Culinary
Need to know how to make a cranberry cheesecake? Thought so. The Creative Culinary blog is filled with recipes, tips and other kitchen-related ideas perfect for the home cook. We’ve enjoyed everything from smoked baby back ribs to holiday cocktails. The recipes are well-written and easy to follow, and the photos are standouts. Now you just need to find the proper wine pairing. Hint. Hint.

For the finer flavors in life: Denveater
Ruth Tobias has been exploring the restaurants of Denver for what seems like forever. Or at least since blogging became cool. The former Denver Magazine food writer can find the random hole in the walls on Federal (Lao Wang!) and dine with the finest of them (Coohills). She breaks down her experiences in a fun and very well informed manner with plenty of great food photos to help your appetite.

For a taste of everything local in Denver: EatDrinkDenver
This is a relatively new website, having launched in February, but it's been impressing every step of the way. It's a product of Visit Denver, meant to showcase Denver's growing culinary and drink scene. Stories run the gamut from talk about Denver wine (us, of course!) to chef interviews and food truck updates.

For local wine: Colorado Wino
It’s the only website we can find that focuses on Colorado wine. Need we say more?
