Our First Crush (of 2018) 🍇

First crushes are something you rarely forget, and we've enjoyed so many of them over the years. No, we're not recalling the days of Tiger Beat or a cast member from The Brady Bunch -- we're talking about grapes 🍇 and we just finished up our first crush of 2018, which also marks the start of our 13th vintage!

We recently crushed Sangiovese, Graciano (our first time working with this grape) and Muscat Blanc, all of which are Colorado grapes from local vineyards in Palisade (besides their vineyards, this beautiful area is also known for their abundant peach orchards).

The Sangiovese mentioned above is what we use in our Rosso di Colorado (our Vinny No Neck Sangiovese is from California -- it's a Vinny thing).  We also made some Rosé from the Colorado Sangiovese grapes for (so the Rosé lovers can enjoy it all winter long - stay tuned for the release).

And, there's more! More grapes are coming from Colorado including Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Malbec (stay tuned for the wine releases).

Kudos to Rob Cavalier, Shawn Fleckenstein and Ryker from Ryker’s Cellars. Rob and Shawn are long time wine club family, and it's always a pleasure to work with ALL of these awesome people.

TIDBITS!

Sangiovese is a red Italian wine grape variety that derives its name from the Latin sanguis Jovis, "the blood of Jupiter".

Graciano is a Spanish red wine grape that is grown primarily in Rioja. The wine produced is characterized by its deep red color, strong aroma and ability to age well.

p.s. Thanks guys 🙏🏼🍇
