Our Recipe for Steamed Mussels
Chef Paul Fishler stopped by the winery and showed us his tips and tricks to make smoked salmon, steamed mussels and turkey gumbo. Watch the video and see how easy it is to make steamed mussels at home. The recipe is posted below. Buon Appetito!
Steamed mussels
Make sure all your ingredients are ready before starting this dish because it is less then 5 minutes cooking time.
1lb Mussels
2 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive oil
2 TBSP of Butter
1 TBSP of Chopped Garlic
2 TBSP of Chopped Scallion Onions
1 Cup of White Wine
Dash of Red Pepper Flakes
Dash of Fresh Black Pepper
2 TBSP of Chopped Parsley
1 Lemon
If you do not have a wok put a deep pan on the stove at medium High heat.
Let pan come to temp
Put oil first and then butter in the pan, Oil first so Butter won't burn
garlic, onion go in as soon a butter in melted.
30 seconds after that Put in your washed and cleaned mussels and your cup of wine.
Cover pan and steam for 90 seconds.
Check mussels if they are opening add parsley, red pepper flakes, Fresh black pepper and squeeze half a lemon
Cover over heat for 30 more seconds.
Pour into serving dish and enjoy
