The Denver Post Picks Cab Franc

We have loved the 2008 Cabernet Franc since the day it was bottled (and actually think it gets better with each and every day it ages). But don't take our word for it!

Listen to the Denver Post.

They called it one of five Colorado wines to drink. Right. Now.

"How many times have you gone to a wine bar and ordered a glass of "cab?" It's a tradition that California has made as American as apple pie. Colorado is giving new meaning to "cab" in the form of cabernet franc. It's the genetic parent to cabernet sauvignon and is arguably the best red grape produced in Colorado. The Bonacquisti Wine Co.'s current release, made from Palisade grapes, showcases earthy and pepper aromas with a balanced array of minerals, black cherries, stone fruits and a little bit of green pepper in the mouth. Like a traditional cab, it'll hold up well to a medium-rare steak." — Denver Post, June 8, 2011

"Very exciting," winemaker Paul Bonacquisti said about the Denver Post write up. "It was great. Really, I don't know what else to say about." If you know Paul, you know that he's never short on words, so the honor really meant a lot to him.

Get the Cab Franc online or at Mondo Vino, the Ale House at Amato's and The Grape Leaf.
